Cranky Baby

I have been meaning to post so often but have had a very cranky Clara on my hands...I have no idea what happened to my sweet, good natured little lady but something has come over her and it's like she's a colicy newborn. I have given her gas drops, pumped her legs, rubbed her belly, given her tylonal, orajel, cold teething rings...you name it but to no avail. HELP!!! I had switched her formula and thought that might have been the culpret but I switched back and it hasn't seemed to help. She is up frequently at night and for hours at a time. I was overjoyed that I got three hours of sleep in a row last night...yep it's bad. She's 7 months so she shouldn't need to eat during the night, and often doesn't really want to if I try to feed her. I feel badly for her because I just have no clue what it is. I guess I'm really going to have to break down her diet and try and figure out if it's a food she's had. Anyway, she has been pretty much taking up all of my time, and when she will sleep it's a mad dash to get my chores done, and try and tend to E and K. I haven't been babysitting so we've been able to go out a bit more. I was incredibly proud of myself when I got the three kids to sit through Sacrament today...we were late so we were right at the back so the kids sort of just hung out and played a bit, but still it's a start!! Karington is starting to talk a lot more and mimics Ethan all the time. It's so cute to hear her copy him. And it's normally when Ethan is telling me that "it's not bedtime yet" or something of that nature and then she says it too. Phil has been busy with school as it's the last full month so there's lots of papers to do! He'll be away for a few months training this summer....sadly he'll miss out on Clara's first and Ethan's fifth birthdays. So I'll have to try and make them special myself!
Ethan is starting to get more excited to start school but says that he's "a little bit shy". I had to go back to his school the other day and brought him with me. The lady in the office took us down to see the Primary (Kindergarten) rooms and he was quite excited about them. And that there were some fun looking things in there! Well I will quickly end this with some pictures before witching hour begins again with Clara....good thing she's cute!
snuggles before bed in Karington's toddler bed! Tight fit!

This dude doesn't normally nap anymore but everynow and then he tires himself out

playtime!

They think it's pretty funny to put their chairs on the couch...Karington picked out her entirely pink (in different shades) outfit this day

pretty girl

at least one of them is looking!

don't be fooled...she still won't crawl

this is what I saw when I checked on Kar last night...looks mighty comfy

  2. Awww....poor Clara but poor YOU too! I feel so bad...do you think it could be her teeth? Hope you get it figured out soon! Which gas drops have you tried? I know with Maddie and Brooklyn I used the symethicone (sp?) with them but with Halle and Mason I used Gripe Water. Hope you figure it out soon so you both can start getting some better sleep! Very cute pics! Talk to you soon!

  3. Oh man. Clara is a doll. Super cute. I like how you refer to her nighttime madness as the "witching" hour. I got a chuckle out of that. I can't get over how fast E and K are growing. Holy moly, I haven't seen you guys in ages. Can I be done school already so I can get out of this hole of a bedroom and see people? Hope you figure out her issue soon!

  5. I feel for you with the Clara situation. Sorry I don't have any helpful advice. You've already tried everything I would have. I guess one thing is that I used to let Audrey sleep on her belly when she got to be about 6 months old. I know they tell you not to now, but she slept a lot better on her belly. Cute pictures! Are you getting nervous about sending Ethan to school? I'm stressed about sending Job to school.

  6. Dairy allergy?? I think that's Elias' deal. I'm allergic to it but was still eating/drinking it because it's good for babies but he was not doing good and so I cut it out and he seems to be better. I also ordered an amber necklace for E for teething...I hear they can help with teething. There's also something my doctor recommended for me to give him daily for his stomach but I can't remember what it is and have to find the paper she wrote it on. It's basically giving them good bacteria to help their bellies. She says you give it to them the same time every day. If you want I can let you know when I find out what it is. Good luck :(
