While Daddy's Away...

We've gone for picnics...
 We've gone to Public Gardens...

and been annoyed at Mummy for trying to get pictures of everything for Daddy....

and pretty much have tried to keep busy....
because we all miss Daddy!!! Just under 7 weeks left...and I know this is what we signed up for but it's our first time with him away for this long and it takes some getting used to. We're getting into a routine though and I am hoping the time flies by. We've also been going swimming a fair amount at the Canada Games Centre (I was quite impressed with myself for taking the three kids by myself...despite some change room fiascos we all survived!). Clara is turning 1 in just under three weeks and then a couple weeks after that Ethan turns 5. We'll be keeping it low key this year but still trying to make it special for the kids. I also got to go on a date with Ethan to see Cars 2...which was awesomeness!! I loved it and so did Ethan! Can't wait until we can buy that for home. In a couple weeks Karington will get her date with me to go see Winnie the Pooh. Ethan is excited to go to Auntie Karen's that day to play with her Lego games. He keeps asking if it's time for Kar to go see her movie! Canada Day my mum had Ethan for a bit during the day and took him to the PowWow on the Commons while I took the girls out to play. That night we got to go to the Griffins and the kids had a blast on the trampoline and Clara loved playing with her birthday buddy Sidon. My mum has been over a lot too which the kids enjoy. We skipped soccer last week because the weather was so gross but hopefully it's nicer this week and Ethan can go to that. I need to work on being more patient with the kids because I know they are acting up more because they miss Daddy, which is totally understandable. In the evenings I get a bit bored but enjoy the time to myself at the same time after a busy day with the kids. Phil is doing well though and we are so proud of him and all he does for us! I know it's not easy being away from family and there's four of us for him to miss while we still have eachother here. We are also excited because later this month my dad and stepmom are moving back to Canada after a five year posting in the States (which is nice because my passport is about to expire too!). I hope everyone is enjoying the summer and the nice weather!!

  3. Sounds like you are doing great, Super Mom!! Cute pictures of your kids. Cars 2 was really good, we saw it, too. As for taking 3 kids to the pool...you are crazy!! But if you can handle it, good work. I did it once a year or so ago, and I went bonkers.

  6. Love those kiddos!! Great shots friend! And it's so hard to have hubby away. Like it really sucks. Matt goes away for seven weeks soon too. It blows! You're doing a great job getting them out. You rock!

  7. Hats off to you for keeping busy. It can't be very easy with small kids. I remember Darren going away for 3 months increments and thought I was never going to survive. However, it's amazing how as women we somehow find ways to get throughout it.
